COMMISSIONING OF PRAYER WALK

• Those involved in the Prayer Walk will be commissioned
• Pray for the anointing of God’s Spirit as these people are sent out.
• Pray for travel mercies as the drive from school to school

MATTHEW 26V41

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

Tuesday 31 March

Psalm 18:32-35

“It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer and sets me on my high places. He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have also given me the shield of Your salvation. Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great.”

Monday 30 March

John 17:9, 15-17

“I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given me, for they are Yours. Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are one. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”

CHRISTIAN STUDENTS IN THE SCHOOLS

There are literally thousands of Christian teenagers in this country. Many of them do not own a Bible or have little access to godly discipleship. Pray for these Christians. Pray that God would keep them safe from the clutches of Satan and that they would grow in the knowledge and grace of Jesus. Pray that they might learn what it means to live an abundant, fruit bearing life, free from the ravages of their past sin.

Sunday 29 March

Psalm 23:4-6

“Yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me, in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

SUPPORTING TEAMS

• Pray for the prayer partners. These are adults who are assigned to a volunteer for the 10 weeks of FTN. They are to pray for, love, support, encourage and hold accountable the volunteer under their care.
• Pray for the many people who are making love and encouragement gifts for the volunteers
• Pray for the people who are making the teaching aids to be sent into the schools
• Pray for the lecturers as they prepare their lessons to present to the volunteers
• Some of the volunteers are accommodated in homes during the School Discipleship. Pray that these homes would be a positive witness and they would model healthy Christian family relationships.

Saturday 28 March

Psalm 18:28-30

“For You will light my lamp. The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect. The word of the Lord is proven. He is a shield to all who trust in Him.”

LEADERSHIP

• The names of FTN leadership are found in the front of this journal
• Pray for a sensitivity to God’s will and purposes as they lead this programme
• Pray for strength, wisdom and discernment as FTN grows and moves forward
• Significant contact has been made with high profile people in government. Pray that the leaders of FTN would continue to grow and develop this relationship and that FTN would find favour with the government.
• Pray that the government will move towards adopting a strong abstinence and faithfulness message as their response to HIV/AIDS in this country.
• People make themselves available to do one on one counseling during the School of Discipleship. Pray for these people.

James 4:7-8&10

“Therefore submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double minded. Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up.”

Pray for these teams as they prepare to travel across the country in a few days time. Pray for:
• Unity among teams members
• Health
• Protection
• Spiritual Discernment
• Spirit Led
• Favour in the schools and with community leaders
• The teams to be good ambassadors for Christ and for FTN

Thursday 26 March

2 Kings 6:16-17

“So he answered ‘Do not fear for those who are with us are more than those who are with them’ And Elisha prayed and said ‘Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see’ Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, And behold the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

REGIONAL FACILITATORS

• The names of these leaders are found in the front of this prayer journal.
• Their role is to oversee the work done by the volunteers in their assigned region. They literally travel from school to school for 5 weeks
• Pray for their safety. Pray for wisdom, a shepherding heart, discernment and strength to carry out their duties

“And the Lord said to Gideon, The people who are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me saying ‘My own hand has saved me’ Then the Lord said to Gideon, ‘By the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand. Let all the other people go, every man to his place”

Pray for clubs such as
• Scripture Union
• Choir
• Sports
• Tutoring
• PACT (Peer Approaching Counseling Teachers)
• Abstinence Clubs
• Pray that as volunteers leave the schools, clubs may continue to function and not lose momentum and that there will be faithful and committed students and teachers to lead them.

Tuesday 24 March

Isaiah 6:8-9; Romans 10:15

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying, whom shall I send, and who will go for us?
Then I said “Here I am send me”

“And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”

VOLUNTEERS

• Pray for the on going recruitment of the 130 required Volunteers
• Pray that the quality of the Volunteers would not be compromised just to reach the required number
• Pray for these young people as they prepare to be sent out.
• Pray for commitment, wisdom, safety from attack of the enemy

Monday 23 March

Luke 10:19

“Behold I gave you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your name is written in heaven.”

Prayer Focus for the Day

PASTORS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS

• We are making good contact with churches at a grass roots level that belong to the Evangelical Fellowship of Botswana (EFB)
• Pray that Pastors around the country will catch the vision of FTN thereby support the programme and the volunteers
• Pray for Pastors to take a stand against the immorality in their communities and spread the abstinence message
• Pray that these Pastors will support the volunteers and that the volunteers will be able to feed new converts into these churches for further discipleship, accountability and support.
• Pray for favor with community leaders such as chiefs and counselors so that the message of FTN will gain credibility in the community and that the rallies can be held in public areas.
